It Is Safe To Receive Medical Care

July 15, 2020

Prosser Memorial Health is committed to providing a safe, healing, patient-centered care environment. We want you to know that it IS safe to receive medical care. Patients should feel confident in keeping regular clinic appointments for wellness exams, cancer screenings, emergent care, and for healthcare needs other than a respiratory illness.

For those patients with signs & symptoms such as: loss of taste and smell, dry cough, fever over 100.4, chills, body aches, and shortness of breath, Prosser Memorial Health has a dedicated clinic for respiratory illness patients. The Respiratory | COVID-19 Care Clinic is in the Prosser Clinic drive thru area at 336 Chardonnay Avenue, and open from 8am-5pm, seven days a week.

Cancer diagnosis are down 40% but cancer has not stopped because of the pandemic. People have not stopped getting cancer, but they have stopped getting needed screenings and seeing their healthcare providers. It is very important to detect cancer in the early stages, stop the progression, and start treatment immediately to increase the patient’s survival rate. “The hospital has got this figured out; we know how to take care of our patients and keep everyone safe.” Verlaine Schneider, Mammography Specialist at Prosser Memorial Health.

Since the pandemic, there are also more people dying from cardiac arrest out of fear of calling 911 or going to the hospital. If someone is having chest pain or experiencing a cardiac event, survival depends on calling 911 and seeking care at the nearest Emergency Room. The staff at Prosser Memorial Health are taking all necessary precautions for patient safety.

At Prosser Memorial Health, our mission is to improve the health of our community. We are here to take care of you. For questions about care, the safety precautions we’re taking, or other related healthcare issues, please call your clinic, the hospital, or visit prosserhealth.org.
