The diagnosis, management and treatment of heart and lung problems starts with accurate diagnostic testing. At Prosser Memorial Hospital, our team of respiratory therapists and nurses are dedicated to providing you the expert cardiopulmonary care you need close to home. If you've been experiencing certain symptoms, your physician may recommend that you undergo cardiopulmonary diagnostic tests to identify or rule out issues with your heart or lungs.

The diagnostic testing, monitoring and therapy we provide helps us:

  • Identify irregularities in your heartbeat or breathing
  • Monitor how your heart and lungs respond to stress
  • Provide essential respiratory therapy services for people with lung disease
  • Check the oxygen levels in your blood
  • Evaluate how your lungs are functioning

What exactly is cardiopulmonary care?

In medicine, "cardio" refers to the heart and "pulmonary" refers to the lungs. Your heart and lungs are two of the most important organs in your body. They work together to give your entire body the oxygen it needs to function, so when something is off with one system, the other is also affected. That's why it’s so important to see your general practitioner regularly—especially if you have a history of heart or respiratory disease.

What cardiopulmonary services does Prosser Memorial Health offer?

We provide inpatient and outpatient cardiopulmonary services that can help identify or diagnose a wide range of health conditions. Scheduled outpatient appointments are available Monday through Friday.

Why do I need to go to the hospital for these tests?

Your primary care physician can refer you to us for cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing that they can't do in their office. We have the state-of-art equipment and training needed to properly administer these tests and achieve the most accurate results.
