Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between obstetrics and gynecology?

Obstetrics refers to care given throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. Gynecology deals with nearly all other women’s health issues, including well-woman exams and women’s health problems like endometriosis.

When should a woman begin seeking gynecological care?

Women should begin seeing a gynecologist for yearly checkups when they are 18 or when they become sexually active. However, if any problems or concerns arise before then, please feel free to call and make an appointment.

Can I go to the OB-GYN clinic for all of my prenatal care?

Yes! The women's health clinic can perform all routine prenatal exams and screenings. If you require additional tests, ultrasounds or have pregnancy complications, you may need to be seen at the hospital.
